Terms and conditions
The terms, in plain English.
The rules for using this site, what you can rely on, and what happens when you get in touch. Short, readable, and honest about what is and is not ready.
About these terms
These terms apply when you use trovecrest.com, including the opportunity library and the enquiry form. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Trovecrest is a trading name of [owner's legal name], a sole trader based at [business address]. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Trovecrest.
The opportunity library
The library describes business problems, the published research they relate to, and possible solutions. It is general information to help you decide what to explore. It is not professional, legal, financial or technical advice for your particular situation.
- Every summary is written by us in our own words. We do not copy text, charts or figures from the reports.
- Source details are still being verified. Some links open a web search rather than the report itself, and each entry says which. Please check the original publication before relying on it.
- Where an entry is marked as our extension of the source theme, the recommendation is ours, not the report's.
- Trovecrest is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by the firms whose research is referenced. Their names are used only to credit their work.
Using the site
You agree not to:
- use the site in any way that breaks the law or harms others;
- try to gain unauthorised access to the site or the systems behind it;
- copy or scrape the library in bulk, or republish it as your own;
- send spam, malicious code or misleading information through the enquiry form.
We may suspend access to the site, or refuse enquiries, if these terms are broken.
Who owns what
The site's design, text, summaries, images and code belong to us or our licensors. You may view and share individual pages for your own business purposes, with a link back to the original.
The reports referenced in the library belong to their publishers, and their names and trade marks belong to them. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.
Enquiries and bespoke work
Sending an enquiry does not create a contract or oblige either of us to work together. If we agree to take on bespoke work, it will be covered by a separate written proposal setting out the scope, the result, the price and any further terms. That proposal will take priority over these terms where they differ.
Your account
You need an account to use self-serve tools. Keep access to your email account secure, because we sign you in by sending a link to it. You are responsible for activity in your account and for anyone you let use it.
Our tools are designed for businesses. By creating an account you confirm that you are using Trovecrest for your business, trade or profession.
Self-serve tools
Some solutions in the library are being built as self-serve tools. Until a tool is marked Available, nothing on this site is an offer to sell it. Each tool's page and documentation describe what it does, what it needs from you and its limits.
Tools that use AI produce outputs that can be wrong or incomplete. You remain responsible for reviewing outputs before acting on them, especially before anything is sent to customers or used for financial, legal or employment decisions. Where a tool would send or change something in another system, it waits for your approval.
Payments, cancelling and refunds
Self-serve tools are a prepaid, pay-as-you-go service:
- Each tool you subscribe to has a one-time licence fee, charged when you first subscribe to it, and a fixed monthly fee. Your first invoice for a tool is its licence fee plus the first month's fixed fee, paid upfront.
- Each following month you pay the fixed fee for the month ahead plus the AI usage from the month just ended, billed for what was actually used. You can set a monthly spending cap in your account; when it is reached, tools pause rather than charge you more. You can raise the cap at any time, and paused work then continues where it left off.
- Prices are in US dollars, or in pounds sterling for businesses based in the UK. Prices and how usage is measured are shown before you buy.
- You can stop at any time from your account. No further fixed fees are charged, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and a final invoice collects the AI usage from that last period.
- Payments, including licence fees, are non-refundable. If you no longer wish to use a tool, simply stop it.
This does not affect any rights the law gives you that cannot be excluded. Where such a right applies to a purchase, we will tell you at checkout and ask you to confirm before the service starts.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are encrypted and handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
Your data in our tools
You own the information you put into our tools and the results they produce for you. When that information includes personal data about other people, such as your customers or staff, you are the controller and we act as your processor.
We will:
- use your data only to produce the outcome you asked a tool for, and for nothing else;
- never sell it, use it for marketing, or use it to train AI models;
- encrypt personal data in transit and before it is stored;
- share it only with the service providers needed to run the tools, listed in our data privacy notice, under contracts that protect it;
- keep it confidential, and limit access to what is needed to run and support the service;
- help you respond to requests from people about their data;
- tell you without undue delay if we become aware of a breach affecting your data;
- delete it when you delete it, or when you close your account.
You confirm that you have the right to share the data you put into our tools, including any notices and lawful basis needed for personal data.
Where your data is hosted
Our service is hosted in the United States. If your organisation needs its data hosted in the UK or the European Union, please tell us; we plan to offer regional hosting as demand grows.
Our responsibility to you
We work hard to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and cannot promise it will always be complete, current or free from errors or interruptions.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the information on this site, including loss of profit, revenue, data or business opportunity.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when self-serve tools launch. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of [governing law, e.g. England and Wales], and disputes will be handled by the courts of [jurisdiction]. If you are a consumer, you may also be able to bring a claim in the courts where you live.
